Daniel M. Ward, MD

Dr. Daniel M. Ward is a Board Certified member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons since 2004. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Dr. Ward serves as a board member of the Arthroplasty, Infection Control, Resident Selection, and Otto E. AuFranc Fellowship Selection Committee at the New England Baptist Hospital.

Dr. Ward is actively involved with clinical orthopedic research on hip and knee implants and has published over 30 articles and abstracts. He has lectured over 100 times on these subjects at the local and national levels. He has served as Chairman of national orthopedic meetings and performed live surgery for instructional purposes for these meetings. He is also a consultant in the field of surgical implant design.

Dr. Ward graduated from the University of Notre Dame where he received an athletic scholarship for baseball. He received his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed both his internship and surgical residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He then went on to complete the Otto E. AuFranc Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital.

Dr. Ward specializes in total joint replacement and revision surgery of the hip and knee. He is extremely focused on a surgical approach to the hip that allows rapid recovery and for some same day outpatient surgery. It is a tissue preserving and minimally invasive approach to the hip. Specifically, Dr. Ward’s approach allows for almost no restrictions in the motion of the hip after the replacement and virtually limitless activities of the replaced hip.
